The University of Waterloo is a pluralistic, publicly supported university that is an inclusive, tolerant community. David Johnston president of the University of Waterloo stated today that he concludes the statement attributed to Prof. Elmasry is abhorrent and conflicts with the University's values. The University expects that the important principle of freedom of speech will be responsibly exercised by members of its community.
What did he do? Activate his Canadian multicultural random cliche generator? What is glaringly missing is what the hell the university is going to DO about it. So he "expects" that freedom of speech will be responsibly exercised. And when it's not? Are there any consequences? If not, the signal to Elmasry and his Islamofascist followers is that Canadia is an easy mark for jihad.
