I have to defend Jonathan Kay and myself here.
Jonathan Kay is the editor of the editorial page at the National Post, and the Post's editorial page has been at the forefront in attacking anti-Semitism and Israel-haters, of all the national media in Canada. Other national media tend to censor ant-Semitic acts, but not the Post. And other politically-correct media (like the Globe, the Star, and the CBC) tend to attack Israel
In my little newsletter, we have attacked anti-Semitism on the left, and exposed it where other media have not.
My thesis about human rights tribunals is as follows: Jewish groups will take minor-league rightist anti-Semites to the HRC's, since they are unlikable an easy pickings for HRC commissars. But ultra-rightists, by and large, are not dangerous to Jews and Israel. Obviously they were so in the 1920s-1940s. But not today. They are few, weak, and disorganized.
However Jewish groups do not take complaints of left-Muslim anti-Semitism to the HRC's. As all posters on this site know, most Jewish groups refused to combat the huge "Israel Apartheid Week" rallies this past February. A number of camplaints where made in the Canadian Jewish News and the Jewish Tribune about the poltically-correct problem of most Jewish groups standing by and watching these events go on. Especially university-aged Jews were upset about the inaction.
My point is that by and large the vast majority of anti-Semitic acts in Europe and North America stem from left-Mulsim agitation. Right now there is an anti-Israel boycott underway -- and this is in of itself anti-Semitic. This boycott is organizaed by left pro-Islamist groups. Yet no Jewish group is willing to take these groups to the HRC's.
In my letter to the National Post,I took the Canadian Jewish COngress to task for issuing four press releases favouring legal action against isolated ultra-rightists, but at the same time issuing no press releases decrying the Israel Apartheid Week.
Yet the IAW is dangerous to Jews and Israel. profoundly so. I will be directing my research against the IAW organizers. These are the dangerous ones, since they are taking over universities, and have a broad appeal amoung NGOs and unions. I am puzzled as to why so much energy is directed against neo-Nazi's -- who are universally reviled -- yet no attention is directed against the IAW organizers.
Israel is in peril. But the country is not in peril because of neo-Nazism. It is imperilled by radical Islamism. And if anything, the HRC's are sympathetic towards Muslim and Arab groups, who are themselves sympathetic towards radical Islamism. I will be directing all my efforts aginst the latter, and not Marc Lemire and his ilk.
